About PostNord
PostNord is the result of an historic merger between Sweden’s Posten AB and Denmark’s Post Danmark A/S – two postal and logistics companies with proven efficiency on the international level. The group has over 40,000 employees, a turnover of more than EUR 4,5 billion, and delivers approximately 29 million items every day. Forty percent of the company is owned by the Danish state and 60% is owned by the Swedish state.
Background
PostNord needed an efficient tool for prioritizing, managing and monitoring projects, portfolios as well as programs. PostNord decided to procure a project portfolio management tool. The target groups for the project portfolio management tool include project directors, program managers, project managers, the program office, portfolio managers, general management, project participants, reference groups, clients, controllers as well as other internal and external stakeholders.
One of PostNord’s main objectives is to pursue change management processes in order to achieve strategic goals with high quality and an optimized utilization of resources.
The following objectives were defined:
The tool should provide support for the organization to manage the change processes.
An effective tool will lead to an improved process quality compared to the current situation.
A more effective tool for project managers and controllers will lead to a higher quality of information and decision support to prioritize activities and make informed decisions.
Optimization of critical resources must be supported by the tool.
The tool must reduce manual work for the benefit of increased analytical work.
PostNord chose Antura Projects
PostNord has now begun a cooperation with Antura to utilize Antura Projects as project and portfolio management tool for PostNord. The implementation will take place during the fall/winter of 2011/2012.
